UDeP's INITIATIVES TO FORTIFY UKRAINE'S ENERGY GRID
Transformative Energy Infrastructure Projects
Developing large-scale solar power installations paired with advanced battery storage to enhance the energy grid's capacity, flexibility, resposiveness and reliability.
Policy Support for Decentralization
Working with lawmakers and international experts to create policies that support the adoption of renewable energy, ensuring a legal framework that fosters investment and innovation.
PV+BESS For City Ressiliency
Working with partners to establish long term debt financing of behind-the-meter solar and battery projects for businesses and residential buildings, promoting energy independence and grid resilience.
REBUILD GIGAWATTS OF CAPACITY IN UKRAINE
Transformative Energy Infrastructure Projects
UDeP is in discussion with National partners to rebuild Ukraine's energy landscape with transformative energy infrastructure projects.
We are fostering partnerships with Ukrainian organizations to develop substantial pipeline of large-scale solar power installations integrated with advanced battery storage systems.
These projects aim to significantly enhance the grid's flexibility and responsiveness, providing robust solutions to the challenges posed by the vulnerability of centralized energy systems. By distributing energy production across multiple sites, we reduce vulnerabilities and ensure a more resilient and reliable power supply in the face of external threats and disruptions.
POLICY ADVOCACY AND SUPPORT
Shaping the Future Through Policy
UDeP collaborates with international stakeholders and leverages the expertise of global pro-renewable and pro-decentralization experts. Together, we formulate sensible and proven policy proposals that enable fast and efficient energy transition.
Focusing on regulatory reforms, we strive to remove barriers and create incentives for adopting solar power and battery storage. By partnering with government agencies, industry leaders, and local communities, we promote policies that drive energy independence and economic resilience.
FINANCING BEHIND-THE METER ASSETS
Bringing longterm financing to Ukraine's C&I and Public Sector
The UDeP initiative proposes the adoption of behind-the-meter solar and battery systems for public, commercial, industrial, and residential users across Ukraine. The initiative aims to provide the financial backing necessary for organizations to achieve resilience on a grid that is at risk of blackouts, ensuring continuous operation even during disruptions.
More than being a reliable and ressilient power source, combined PV plus Battery Energy Storage Systems (PV+BESS) have the potential to function as virtual power plants, offering services to Distribution System Operators and Transmission System Operators (TSOs) such as reserve capacity, frequency and demand response. By reducing power loads during shoulder hours and storing excess solar power in the batteries, the initiative will help to reduce the strain on the power grid. This decentralized approach ensures a reliable power supply and optimizes grid performance and stability.
